Town Line Guide / Northeast
Useful contacts. Clear limits.
Town Line Guide is a directory of local home-service businesses across the Northeast, published by VoxelXEngine, and it keeps expanding.
What Town Line Guide is
Town Line Guide helps people find and compare local home-service businesses across the Northeast. We organise listings by town and trade because that is how people actually search: a leaking pipe in a particular town, a furnace that failed in January, a roof that needs a second opinion before the next storm.
Where the information comes from
Listings start from public business records. We then read each business’s own website and write a short summary of what it says it offers: the services it names, the areas it covers, who it serves, and notable points such as emergency service, free estimates, financing, family ownership or years in business. We only include a point when the website supports it. A summary reflects the business’s own claims on the date we read them, not an independent check, and a business that changes its website may differ from what we show.
What a listing means
Inclusion is not an endorsement. We do not rank businesses, invent ratings, or label anyone “verified”. Licences, insurance, service areas and prices are not confirmed by us; ask the business directly. Where a website looks unrelated to the listed trade, is unavailable, or no longer belongs to the business, we do not show a summary for it.
Comparisons and our point of view
Facts on our pages come from the sources above. In side-by-side comparisons we go a step further and say where a business seems to stand out, for example the longest stated history in a town or the only one that mentions emergency service. That is our reading of the facts, offered to help you decide whom to call first. It is not a rating and it is never based on payment.
How trades are assigned
Businesses are placed in the trade their own website describes. Some start out under a different trade from their source record and are moved when the website shows the work is different, for example heating oil dealers, septic services or remodelers. Suppliers and retailers appear in their own category so they are not mistaken for contractors who will visit your home.
Keeping it current
Coverage expands over time and listings are refreshed as we review businesses’ websites. If you see something out of date, tell us.
